چکیده
خبب یکی از مزاحفات بحر متدارک است که وزنی مطبوع و پرترنّم و دلکش دارد. این وزن اساساً یکی از وزن¬های مخصوص شعر عربی است و در شعر فارسی چندان معمول نیست. امّا شاعران خوش¬ذوق و نغز پرداز زبان فارسی به¬یکباره از این وزن زیبا غافل نبوده-اند و گه¬گاه در این وزن طبع¬آزمایی کرده¬اند که بعضی از آنها استادانه و جذّاب از کار درآمده است.
در این مقاله ابتدا وزن متدارک وخبب ، یکی از زحافات آن مطرح گردیده و نمونه هایی از شعر عربی و فارسی برای آن ذکر گردیده و آنگاه به شکل گسترده تری مثنوی « شیر و شکر » شیخ بهائی از جهت علم عروض (زحاف خبب از بحر متدارک) مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است . هم چنین کوشش شده است تا تأثیرات این زحاف بر شعر زیبایی پارسی واکاوی گردد.

Khabab is one of catalectic of Bahr-e Motadārek that has a harmonious rhythm. This meter is quiet common in Arabic poetry whereas in Persian it is not. However the tasteful Persian poets, at times tried their hand in writing such rhythms and some of these meter have turned out to be artistic. The present paper, firstly deals with Khabab of the Motadārek prosody along with one its modifications within Persian and Arabic poetic verse samples. Then, Sheikh Bahai's "Shir o Shekar", written in couplet poem, is analyzed in terms of prosodic features. The researcher has also tried to investigate the influence of this Zehaf on Persian poetry
