Abstract
This article aims to study some of the widely used Persian words that are considered, either consciously or unknowingly, Arabic. Both in spoken and written form, these words are dealt as though they are Arabic. The paper also endeavors to explain the factors that have led to identifying these Persian words as Arabic. Etymological approach proves that common rhyming and pronunciation cannot be the criterion for word root recognition and the best way is to find the root and origin of words.
