Abstract

The widespread wave of immigration and the emergence of colonialism has led to a new genre in world literature, known as "Diaspora Literature" and "Postcolonial Literature." In this type of literature, the author usually deals with identity crises and the consequences caused by this phenomenon. With the expansion of diaspora studies in academia, researchers have discovered common features in immigrant identities. Many theorists such as Edward Said, Stuart Hall, Homi Bhabha, and Gayatri Speake have dedicated their studies to this field, and many writers from different cultures have created prominent works in this emerging literary genre. InaamKachechi is one of the novelists who is of Iraqi origin and lives in France. 'The Outcast' by her is the story of three characters named Taj Al-Muluk, Mansour al-Badi, and Wadian, who each go through the experience of immigration in a different way than the others. The relationships between the characters in this novel are completely derived from their relationship with the host land and the motherland; For this reason, these multifaceted connections become very meaningful in the analysis of this work.
